Everyday plumbing we've handled lately
- Showers: new shower valves in rental turnovers; a worn cartridge replaced in Minnetonka when a shower had no hot water; a mixing valve with its temperature limit installed upside down, so the handle wouldn't turn all the way; and a rubber gasket wedged in a shower supply that was choking the pressure.
- Shutoff valves: five at once in one unit (vanity, toilet, and kitchen), so every fixture can be isolated for future repairs, plus shutoff valve work in Mound.
- Toilets: fill valves that wouldn't shut off, flappers, chains, and a tank-to-bowl leak.
- Small leaks: a dripping kitchen sink in Mound traced to a loose nut on the basket strainer, and a fridge water line in Maple Grove swapped from old copper to braided steel.
- Outdoor spigots: old spigots cut out and replaced with frost-free ones.
- Gas lines: in Hopkins, after CenterPoint found a leak and tagged the line, we took the lines apart, replaced the ball valve, and fixed multiple leaks the same day.
- Water pressure problems: a water softener choking the whole house (pressure came right back in bypass), a stuck recirculation pump valve in Minnetonka sending warm water out the cold taps, and a leaking main valve on the city side that also fed a fire sprinkler system, planned around the city's curb-stop shutoff.
- Remodel rough-ins: moving a toilet, venting a new vanity, and running drains for a freestanding tub, permitted and inspected. On a permitted Chanhassen remodel, we added shutoffs for the kitchen, toilet, and washer, set a new powder room toilet, and hooked up the kitchen sink.
- Sump pumps and irrigation: sump pump replacement, vacuum breakers for irrigation systems, and backflow testing with fall blowouts.
