If your home has towering, mature trees, do not wait for your drains to slow down to get an inspection.

Enforce Strict “Drain Discipline” with Your Family: Don’t dump fats, oils, or greases (FOG) down the kitchen sink or garbage disposal. They’ll solidify and accumulate underground, eventually creating obstacles that’ll result in a backup. Additionally, no matter what the packaging says, “flushable” wipes and feminine hygiene products do not disintegrate like toilet paper and are not flushable. On the old cast iron pipes common in Minneapolis, St. Louis Park, and Edina, it’s likely they’ll snag on the cast iron scales and create an obstruction.
